Lois Mitten Rosenberry
Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Children's Discovery Center - Corporate Office

Lois Mitten Rosenberry founded Children's Discovery Center in 1982 and has served as President and CEO of the company since that time. Mrs. Rosenberry has extensive experience in early childhood development and has served as a college professor, published kindergarten curriculum, and worked as a child care consultant for several private and public organizations, including the United States Defense Department.

Recognized as an innovator in her field, Mrs. Rosenberry has been featured in Inc. Magazine, Entrepreneur Magazine, Executive Female, Early Childhood News, and others. She is a Milestone for Women recipient and Athena Award winner. She has been named Northwest Ohio Entrepreneur of the Year, Small Business Person of the Year, Ohio Child-Care Administrator of the Year, and serves as Chairperson of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce Small Business Council. In 2005 Mrs. Rosenberry received the Governor's Award for Excellence in Enterprise and was inducted as an Ohio Commodore.

In addition to leadership in her field, Mrs. Rosenberry is committed to several charitable projects. She has partnered with others to create a home (the Deborah Center) for abandoned and abused girls in the city of Timisoara, Romania and serves on the Advisory Board of Veritas, a non-profit organization which provides a variety of services for the families of Sighisoara, Romania.

Mrs. Rosenberry holds a BA degree in Behavioral Science from Messiah College, Grantham, PA and a Masters Degree in Education from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. She has three grown daughters, all of whom are graduates of Children's Discovery Center. Her four grandchildren currently attend Children's Discovery Center and two of her daughters work for the company.



Mary Ann Rody
Vice President of Operations

As one of the first employees hired for the Southwyck location of CDC when it opened in 1986, Mrs. Rody has served in many capacities including Pre-K and Kindergarten Teacher, Southwyck and Talmadge Administrator, Human Resources Manager, and is currently Vice President of Operations for the company. Mrs. Rody has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from John Carroll University in Cleveland, as well as credits towards a Masters in Early Childhood Education from the University of Toledo. She was instrumental in introducing the Reggio Emilia philosophy to CDC in 1995 after she and Mrs. Rosenberry studied the model in Italy as part of the U.S. delegation in 1994. Mrs. Rody serves on the advisory board for Penta ECE Program and is President-elect of TAEYC. Mrs. Rody has two grown daughters and a son who is attending Central Catholic High School.



Nathan Syrek
Chief Financial Officer
Children's Discovery Center - Corporate Office

Mr. Syrek joined the Corporate Management Team in February 2008 as Chief Financial Officer. He oversees the company's financial system and team while also examining the viability of current and future projects. Mr. Syrek's most notable contribution to date has been the implementation of financial controls and accountability within the organization. Before Children's Discovery Center, Mr. Syrek was an Operations Manager for a local Human Resources outsourcing firm. Mr. Syrek is an active member of the local community through involvement with EPIC (a local young professional initiative) and as volunteer coach for a local high school rowing team. He holds a BS degree in Accountancy along with a minor in Entrepreneurship from Miami University, Oxford, OH .


Sara Mitten-Harris

Jessica DeViney
