At Children’s Discovery Center, every classroom is guided by heart, experience and a passion for discovery, with our teachers at the helm. This month, we’re thrilled to introduce one of our newest additions to the CDC family, Ms. Kimberley Edgar!
A veteran educator with a specialty in early childhood development, Ms. Kimberley is already making a wonderful impact on our students as the lead teacher of our preschool B classroom.
A Natural Fit for Our CDC Family
With previous experience as both a lead and assistant teacher, this early childhood educator’s natural warmth and calm presence have helped foster a welcoming and engaging environment for her students. After earning her degree from Saddleback College, she’s currently continuing her education at Grand Canyon University (GCU) and demonstrating the same love for learning that inspires her students every day.
A Peek Inside Her Classroom
It’s no easy feat choosing a favorite Reggio Emilia project, but Ms. Kimberley has found one! The self-portrait activity using mirrors holds a special place in this teacher’s heart, as it has inspired curiosity and helped children build self-awareness, confidence and creativity.
Beyond this experiment, she has especially loved the moments when laughter fills the classroom or a student lights up with a smile. To Ms. Kimberly, these are simple reminders of the joy and connection that make early childhood education so rewarding.
Her center’s community is also a source of CDC pride! From daily check-ins to special projects and classroom involvement, Ms. Kimberley appreciates the connections and support that surround her students.
Outside the Classroom
In her free time, Ms. Kimberley enjoys spending time with her family, going on bike rides and solving puzzles. Her life motto, “Keep moving forward, one pedal at a time,” beautifully reflects the gentle perseverance and intentionality she brings to both her personal and professional life.
