At Children’s Discovery Center, we believe children thrive in safe, nurturing environments built on strong relationships and joyful discovery. For Jennifer and Austin Talmon, that vision became reality when they walked through our doors.
“We started looking into daycares when I first got pregnant,” Jennifer shared. “CDC was a great option in the back of our neighborhood.”
Now, their daughter Brooklyn has been with CDC for more than two and a half years—starting when she was just four months old.
“The staff, no matter who is at the front, is always smiling and welcoming,” these parents added. “They know every child and parent who comes in. We have a great relationship with everyone there.”
What do you love most about CDC?
For the Talmon family, location and loving care go hand in hand. On sunny days, they even walk to pick Brooklyn up—a small joy that adds to their connections within the CDC community.
That sense of community extends to little Brooklyn, who loves her teachers and friends. “Every day when she comes home, she tells us about all her friends at school and all the fun things they do. She sees friends outside of school and still gets excited to see and talk to them.”
What makes CDC staff so special?
“Miss Lisa has been with us since day one,” Jennifer shared. “She gave us our first tour, and she’s been there for every step since. She takes the time to talk to all the kids individually and make them feel special.
“She has definitely helped get our daughter out of her “shell” at school because she knows what a wild and fun child she can be! It’s awesome to see that she cares enough to bring out the best in our daughter.”
“My daughter also loves Miss Nicole! Every morning, she runs right to her as soon as my husband drops her off. She talks about her at home and tells us that Miss Nicole does her hair and plays with her all day.”
“She takes one-on-one time with Brooklyn, especially when Brooklyn is having a rough day. When asked, Brooklyn says, “Miss Nicole is my favorite because she’s always nice to me.”
How has CDC impacted your family?
The Talmons have seen remarkable growth in their daughter—both socially and academically.
“Brooklyn has learned more than we could have ever imagined at her age,” Jennifer said. “People comment all the time on how smart she is. We give CDC so much credit for that. The staff makes her feel at home and are committed to helping her be her best.”
They also appreciate how CDC supports their entire family.
“She is there by getting her to be the best she can be while communicating with my husband and me every day when we drop off and pick her up. The app is also a great tool that we couldn’t ask for a better daycare with staff and teachers for our daughter.”
And it’s safe to say our staff loves having Brooklyn and her family in our community, too!
