At Children’s Discovery Center, we view the educational process as a beautiful puzzle. Each piece is equally important in your child’s early development, including their learning environment; in Reggio Emilia, we like to say “the environment is the third teacher.” By emphasizing aesthetic design through color, texture, light, etc., in collaboration with interactive educational materials, our Toledo-area child care centers encourage exploration in our students and act as a “teacher” alongside our talented early childhood educators.

Holland (Wolf Creek)

Located on Timberwolf Drive in Wolf Creek Business Park, our Holland location offers nearby working parents easy access to child care. This location welcomes all CDC parents to drop by any time for a check-in/play date with their little ones. 

The Holland location features a unique and interactive Ocean Discovery Room, where children can fish from a life-sized sailboat, discover exotic sea creatures and engage in S.T.E.A.M.-powered playtime in a large indoor sandbox. This location is also the home to our Discovery School Kindergarten.

Franklin Park (Talmadge)

Our Franklin Park (Talmadge) discovery center is like no other! This location was presented with a four-star Step Up to Quality award by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and the Ohio Department of Education, it features museum-quality exhibits to inspire curiosity in our young explorers. 

This West Toledo childcare and preschool location also features a spacious outdoor playground to foster the connection to nature that is fundamental to our teaching philosophy. Our award-winning center is conveniently located near I-475.

Perrysburg (Avenue Road)

Our Avenue Road location is the first of two Perrysburg childcare facilities. Since its opening in 1993, this early childhood education center has provided Toledo children with an interactive learning environment. This center’s unique Discovery Room features an entertaining light and shadow area, a naturally-lit atelier for arts and crafts, as well as an acre of outdoor play space complete with a hilltop castle to explore. 

The Avenue Road location offers parents peace of mind with a state-of-the-art, secured-entry system. Weekly art and music lessons are also held for preschoolers and pre-kindergarten students.

Perrysburg (Harbor Town Place)

An important part of our Reggio Emilia approach to education is role-playing, which helps our children explore role-playing helps our children explore new paths, career opportunities and, most of all, their imagination! Our Perrysburg (Harbor Town Place) child care center allows learners to do just this in a Discovery Room built for dreams. The unique play space includes a child-sized stage and market, an interactive castle, and an outdoor playground and garden where children can experience nature’s beauty. This Toledo-area facility features individual infant care rooms where even our youngest explorers can enjoy fun with our compassionate staff.

Waterville (Dutch Road)

Similar to Harbor Town Place, our Waterville center’s Discovery Room features a new indoor playground where imaginations can run wild. The space is complete with a STEAM area and bright light. However, the location’s most significant feature is its outdoor sports campus! This exciting location engages children in healthy exercise via its basketball court, soccer field, volleyball court and lifeguard-staffed swimming pool for summer months.
