At Children’s Discovery Center, we are proud to have educators who bring warmth, creativity and a deep passion for early childhood development into the classroom each day. Ms. Alex Frost is a perfect example of the shine that helps our students and Toledo-area early education centers sparkle.
A Heart for Children (and Families!)
With CDC since 2017, Ms. Alex has been working with young children since graduating from high school and is currently working toward earning her CDA (Child Development Associate). With years of hands-on experience and a deep love for nurturing little ones, Ms. Alex brings heart into every moment of her Wolfcreek toddler classroom.
As a new mom herself, Ms. Alex says she especially loves getting to know the families at CDC and creating an environment where both children and parents feel supported and encouraged. That sense of community extends beyond CDC’s classrooms. She enjoys exploring local farmers’ markets, thrifting and—most of all—sharing these new experiences with her young son.
Her life motto embodies this eagerness to explore and put her best foot forward: “Take life one day at a time, everything will work out in the end.”
Ms. Alex’s Favorite Project
Each day in Ms. Alex’s classroom is filled with exciting new discoveries, so choosing a favorite can be difficult! When asked about this, Ms. Alex shared that the “Beneath Our Feet” STEAM lesson was high on her list.
In this Reggio Emilia-inspired project, toddler students explored the fascinating world just below Earth’s surface. From learning about wiggly worms to watching caterpillars transform into butterflies, children dove into hands-on STEAM learning that brought the outdoors to life. “I loved watching their curiosity and excitement grow as they experienced hands-on learning,” she says.
