The most fulfilling early childhood education programs are those with enthusiastic educators at the helm. Like their students, each CDC teacher is a curious, creative learner with a love for exploration. It’s this passion for discovery from Ms. Racheal Robinson that helps pre-K students at Harbortown flourish in their pursuits of knowledge.
Caring & Connection
Since 2020, Ms. Racheal has helped Children Discover Center students discover the world around them. Of course, time flies when you’re having fun, and this pre-k lead teacher is having the most fun when she’s helping children thrive.
“I have been working with children for as long as I can remember,” Ms. Racheal shared. “Before CDC, I worked with the park program in Waterville, taught at Sunday school and even babysat as a teen.”
In a previous role, this CDC teacher devoted her time and talents to a private children’s home, where she eventually became a “house parent” to eight children, ages six to 13. Her experience working with these children, many with various special needs, has helped prepare her to support any child who enters her classroom.
She has since taught pre-K for 20 years and wouldn’t trade it for anything. Her favorite part of the role is the freedom to follow the children’s curiosity where it leads, encouraging them to do what interests them and watching their minds at work. She also enjoys seeing positive involvement from her students’ parents.
Personal Life
Ms. Racheal practices the same compassionate approach to teaching in her everyday life. It is her past experiences that have helped shape her outlook on life. Well, that and a little help from her friends John Lennon and Paul McCartney.
After all, her personal motto is pulled straight from “The End” on The Beatles’ Abbey Road album: “And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.”
When she isn’t guiding young minds, Ms. Racheal enjoys gardening, quilting, bag making and watching local live music performances.
