Each day holds exciting discoveries for learners of all ages, whether it be the young students we are blessed to teach or their parents and family who guide exploration at home. We have watched children flourish into lifelong learners and, in cases such as this, witnessed their children return to do the same. Meet the Whalen’s – multi-generational CDC family.

How long have you been with CDC?

A CDC graduate herself, Lauren and her husband Jason have now shared the gift of discovery with their own young explorers, Harper, Piper and Brit.

“Our family has been with Children’s Discovery Center for six years. We have had two children attend the kindergarten program as well,” Lauren shared. “We have received the best possible care for our children from birth to school age!”

Why do you love CDC?

Watching the Whalen family grow alongside one another has been a pleasure. From classroom discoveries to learning new life skills, our staff is honored to have played a part in this important development. We are heartwarming to hear they feel the same!

“We love the teachers and directors the most!” the Whalens shared. “They are the most caring, loving, giving individuals I have ever met. They love every child in the center like they are their own children. Each staff member has played a role in our children’s lives, and we are so grateful”!

When asked how her children felt about their caregivers, Lauren shared that they felt the same. “Their teachers, and Ms. Lisa specifically, are their favorite things about CDC. They love all the attention, hugs and fun activities planned.”

Lauren continued, noting how her school-age children are so excited to attend when they don’t have school so they get a “full day of fun.”

How has CDC impacted your children and family?

“Our children have learned skills that will help them be successful in school. They have learned how to behave in a school setting, along with all early learning skills!”

“We have been (with CDC) in the infant care room all the way through kindergarten, and every level and teacher has been amazing. Right now, in the preschool room, Ms. Nicki has been teaching the coolest lessons and has so many hands-on activities.”

“The lessons our children have learned have been amazing. Ms. Lisa and the entire CDC staff are always there for us and every CDC family. She truly loves and cares for every student, and it truly shows. We are so thankful for her and all of CDC’s teachers.”
